Hello and Welcome to my new series on RhiReads Top 5 were i give you my Top 5 books today its Top 5 books I would like to see as movies in fact i have 2 Top 5 as I want to share with you My Top 5 Classics as well.

5.Of Mice and Men By John Steinbeck
I choose these 5 classics as they all have a meaning to them I studied  3 of these at school so i have a connection to the books i didn't read the ones i had to do for school for a long time but then came back to them after i left school and I enjoyed them more because I wasn't annaylsing them I enjoyed them for the story. Books To Film Saturday #2

Hi and Welcome to books to film Saturday I have 3 films that are based on books or comics.

Paddington 

yes everyone favorite bear from Peru and loves munching on marmalade is coming to the big screen and hear is the Teaser trailer. When I first heard that Padding ton bear was going to be made into a movie I was a bit worried how are they going to do this what i have seen from the teaser trailer is they have done him Justice yes he is CGI so it might take away from the TV show that people grew up with but i will let you make your mind up.

Captain America The Winter Solider 

The Next Film i am very very excited about and comes out int April Is Captain America the Winter Solider I saw the trailer in the Cinema and yes i had a bit of a  moment i really enjoyed the first film on Netflix and I can not wait for the sequel it looks epic and most important its very Marvel. I haven't read any Marvel comics yet but I am going to change that fact but if you are fan of Marvel then you can make your own mind up when you watch i am sure it will be awesome.

Noah

Based on the bible Story This retelling does look epic and I for one can not wait for this it stars Emma Watson Russell Crowe so sit back and relax and enjoy this epic Trailer. Noah has always been my favorite Bible story when i was a kid and I can remember making a animal for our primary school display this film looks and feels more to adults and the CGI looks stunning from what I see from the trailer it did give me spine tingles. Hello and its a wonderful sunny Friday and its March so it means spring and I am bringing you my Friday Reads The books I am reading this Weekend are
Storm breaker By Anthony Horowitz The first installment of the Alex Rider Series I am hoping to finshe this at the weekend and I will review it its about Alex a 14 year old school boy who is recruited to MI6 and sent to Cornwall on a mission to find out about a new computer called Stormbreakers . This is somewhat a reread for me but I really want to finshe this series by the end of 2014.
My Second Book I want to get through this Weekend is called The Time of My Life By Cecelia Ahern I love Cecelia Aherns Work she is one of my favorite chick lit/contemporary Authors I love were I her books are set and I am hoping this book wont let me down.

2014 Goals

Happy New year to my readers. so its 2014 and its a new year and everyone one is looking forward to some new books to read. I want to tell you what my New year goals are and what will be happening in this Blog in 2014.
My goals are:
Read 50 books
Read more Adult and Manga and graphic novels always been interested in this and I want to  at least read one Manga
Read at least 2 Classics I have loads of Austen to read
Keep reading fun so no more TBRS as I don't want to stress myself out I am just going to read and post reviews and reading should be fun.
I want to re read harry potter and finshe at least one series so i have picked Alex rider to finshe in 2014
Do more reviews
I would love to participate in a read -a-thon and do more challenges This year i will be doing the Author A-Z Challenge which I will post as I go.
You tube only I want to interact more with Book tubers but i am a little shy because i do love to talk about books.

I will update every Saturday and Sunday on my written blog and upload on you tube Tuesday and Fridays

War Horse Review (Warning Spoilers)

That's the line on the cover of this Book and it was spot on this is not my first and won't be my last Michael Morpurgo book. I love Morpurgos work he is my all time favorite  children's author. I took my time with this book it may be short but there are moments in this story that will stick with you. If you have watched the film the book may disappoint or it may not but I am not hear to talk about the film that's a sperate entity. War horse as it suggests follows a horse called Joey and you meet Joey at a horse sale and he gets brought by a farmer Mr Narracot and there Joey forms a bond with Albert and Albert is kind to Joey and talks to him even though Joey doesn't understand him all through the book you read Joey's thoughts so he doesn't talk like you expect in some animal books but to me that's more like real life and as a reader its more personal and intimate. Unfortunately World War One Starts and the Army want equipment Horses etc and Albert s father has no choice but to sell Joey to the army and for me thats the first real gut rencing sacrifice that people made and Albert makes and Albert wants to sign up for the army just so he can be with his beloved horse but he is too young and Albert Promises Joey he will find him "Wherever you are I'll find you Joey". The Middle Part of the book is the time Joey spends time with both armies first he spends time training with the British Army were he meets Top-thorn who is another horse and is under the care of Captain Nichols and others. Joey is trained up to go fight on the front line. I like Captain Nichols as he keeps his promise to Albert and sends pictures of Joey. When they get to France they fight they go to No mans land and Murpugo writes this brilliant and builds it up he writes war for children very well and any child or adult will understand what does happen in this chapter of the book.After there time with the British army Joey and Top-thorn then help the German medical army and stay with Emil lie and her grandfather for a bit and again Emil-lie adores Joey and says that she will hide them after the army is finished with them. The medical army leaves the area and the Horses stay until a another German Army Group comes and take Joey and Top thorn to help with taking the massive gun to the front line I didn't like this bit if you have read the book you will understand why. The book then builds up nicely to that Iconic Scene of Joey galloping and getting caught in the wire out in the middle of no-mans land. The movie did Justice and i am glad that the movie kept a lot of the story. The scene with the two soldiers is very funny and heartwarming English and German coming together to help a horse free is such a powerful image and gives hope that 2 sides can work together. This book is about war so it makes sense for such content that this story has a happy ending and the reunion with Albert is a touching once when Albert is describing to his friend who is washing Joey what Joey looks like is funny "He was my Albert and there was no doubt about it he was My Albert " The ending with the grandfather buying Joey at the Horse sale and selling Joey back for a penny was touching and made me smile "I sell you this Horse for one English Penny and for a solemn promise that you will always love this horse as much as my Emile" What a lovely message to children and adults I will sell you a horse in exchange you tell everyone about my granddaughter.
I think Children and Adults would love this book powerful moving and is so believable its a good way to introduce children about war and the sacrifices that were made and still being made today. 5/5
